A feel-good footy anthem, September Always on My Mind was co-written with singer/songwriter/producer Cameron Giles-Webb and featured as the closing track for Channel 7's Finals broadcasts.
Points in Time is a 12-song collection of original material, written at various points in Steve Sedergreen's stellar career, all reworked and re-imagined.
Produced by Cameron Giles-Webb at Gusto Studios in Melbourne over six months in late 2011 and early 2012, Points in Time was recorded with an impressive 10-piece band including lush horn arrangements by Dave Palmer plus special guest performances by guitarist Doug De Vries and vocalist Hetty Kate.
Recorded a decade apart, Avalanche (Paris Cat, 2009, with one track recorded live at Armstrong Studios, 2008) and Evolution (Bennets Lane, 1998) deliver precious snapshots of Steve and Mal Sedergreen's Mistaken Identity playing to live audiences, captured in 'space and time'.
Mistaken Identity is built around the obvious rapport between the Sedergreen brothers, pianist Steve and saxophonist Mal. Spontaneity, passion and a spirit of inclusiveness have long been the hallmarks of the band. They have always sought to make their jazz accessible and spirited, and they succeed on their fifth album, which presents appealing arrangements of the songs of Stevie Wonder.
Wondering features hits such as Master Blaster, For Once in My Life and Higher Ground performed with the unmistakable and unique jazz voice of Mistaken Identity.
Mistaken Identity's classic 1994 album, Identify, was re-released on CD in 1997. Identify features Toby Mak (trumpet), Mal Sedergreen (saxophones), Steve Sedergreen (piano), Dean Addison (bass) and Peter Ayliffe (drums), with all ten tracks composed by Mal Sedergreen.

The album features Steve Sedergreen (piano/keys), Mal Sedergreen (saxophones), Dean Addison (Bass), Neil Laughlin (6-string bass guitar) and Peter Ayliffe (drums) plus special guest performances by Stephen Magnusson (guitar) and Elivis Aljus (percussion).
The title track, written by Steve, was nominated for an APRA Jazz Composition Of The Year Award in 1992.
